The University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) Lahore in collaboration with the United States Educational Foundation in Pakistan (USEFP) organized a training workshop for preparation of GRE for its students and faculty members.
Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Talat Naseer Pasha chaired the inaugural session of the workshop while USEFP Focal Person at UVAS Prof. Dr. Nasim Ahmad and USEFP resource persons Zafar Baig & Shiza Toor were also present. Speaking on the occasion, the Vice-Chancellor urged the trainees to actively participate in the GRE preparation training and then plan for applying for Fulbright Scholarships for their PhD studies in the United States of America, which, he said, is the best place for education in the world.
He said that strengthening of its faculty is among the priorities of the university and this training is part of its efforts to this end. He said that GRE is the key to availing Fulbright Scholarships and other endless opportunities for higher education and training in the US.
Prof. Dr. Nasim Ahmad spoke about the objectives of the training program. He said that the training is also aimed to create awareness about the Fulbright Scholarship and its eligibility requirements He said that the seven to 10 top scoring participants will get fee waiver for appearing in the international GRE.
Later Zafar Baig and Ms Shiza Toor conducted different sessions of the training, in which a large number of students and teachers participated.
