The Higher Education Commission (HEC), under its National Digital Library Programme, organized a workshop on “How to publish research work in journals” in collaboration with the Cambridge University Press at HEC Secretariat, Islamabad.

Over 100 participants, including faculty members, researchers, librarians from Islamabad, Rawalpindi and Peshawar attended the workshop.

Ms. Carloine Kerbyson, Sales Executive, Cambridge University Press delivered lectures on “How useful the CUP journals online be in their research work” and “How to get published in the academic journals”. The workshop is unique as the participants were given tips from a publisher’s point of view on how to publish in the academic journals. The same workshop will be replicated at the University of Management and Technology, Lahore shortly.

In his opening remarks, Dr. Tariq Mahmood, Adviser (R&D) HEC said that utilization of e-resources is one of the top priorities of HEC. “A big amount of money is spent on acquisition of online resources and workshop like this one is essential for awareness building among the scholars.”
