Punjab University School of Biological Sciences PhD scholar and President National Academy of Young Scientists Mr Aftab Ahmad has participated in a first two-day meeting of Asian young scientists organized by Science Council of Japan in Tokyo.
As it was the first regional meeting of Asian young scientists, the basic objective of the meeting is to strengthen the networking among the scientists in Asian region and to promote science and technology in the region and the participants from 11 Asian countries attended the meeting.
On the first day of the meeting, Mr Aftab had a presentation on “Research in Asia: Strength and Weaknesses” in which he presented research and research output of few representative Asian countries.
In addition, he discussed the challenges in Asian countries regarding science and technology and he said that lack of better networking, language barrier, lack of science culture, conflicts among Asian countries are key factors effecting science in the whole region. The meeting created Asian Young Scientists Network to start a comparative study on innovation and creative thinking of Asian scientists.
