Punjab University Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Mujahid Kamran has said that education reporters can play important role for educational development in the country and because of media’s role, all the political parties gave priority to education in their manifestos. He was addressing a luncheon hosted in the honor of newly elected body of Lahore Education Reporters Association (LERA) at Executive Club here on Thursday. LERA President Arshad Bhatti, Vice President Akmal Somroo, General Secretary Syed Sajjad Kazmi, Finance Secretary Zaheer Abbas, Information Secretary Hafiz Ejaz Bashir and a large number of LERA members were present on the occasion. Dr Mujahid Kamran said that at least 4 percent of GDP be allocated to education for country’s educational development. He said that education reporters were playing significant role in promoting educational progress and issues in the country and it is hoped that they would continue to do so.
